Brand Spotlight: Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen is a name that instantly brings to mind groundbreaking innovation, boundless creativity, and unmatched artistry in fashion. As one of the most celebrated designers in fashion history, Alexander McQueen’s brand journey is nothing short of captivating.

In this article we will delve into the story of the Alexander McQueen brand, tracing its roots from humble beginnings to becoming a global icon in the world of high fashion.

History of the Alexander McQueen brand

Born on March 17, 1969, in London’s East End, Lee Alexander McQueen demonstrated a natural talent for design and craftsmanship from a young age. Growing up in a working-class family, McQueen was the youngest of six children.

Despite his origins, he was determined to pursue his passion for fashion and as a child, he would create dresses for his sisters, which showcased his magnificent talent and creativity.

Lee Alexander McQueen’s formal journey into the fashion world began at the age of 16 when he left school to become an apprentice on Savile Row, the famed London street known for bespoke tailoring.

He worked for prestigious tailors such as Anderson & Sheppard and later at Gieves & Hawkes, honing his technical skills and gaining a deep understanding of garment construction and tailoring.

Eager to expand his knowledge, Lee Alexander McQueen pursued further education at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

His graduation collection amazed the influential fashion stylist Isabella Blow, who bought the entirety of McQueen’s collection, catapulting him into the spotlight.

Blow’s support and mentorship were pivotal in McQueen’s early career, helping him gain recognition in the fashion industry. This led to the founding of the Alexander McQueen brand in 1992.

Between 1992 and 2000, the Alexander McQueen fashion brand emerged as a beacon of innovation and creativity in the fashion industry.

From the brand’s debut collection “Taxi Driver” in 1993, featuring the iconic “bumster” trousers, to its daring and extravagant fashion shows, the British designer continuously pushed the boundaries of design and storytelling.

Inspired by a diverse array of cultural influences and fueled by a desire to challenge convention, McQueen created iconic pieces like the “bird’s nest” headdress and the skull scarf, cementing his place as a visionary in the world of fashion.

His fashion show, including the technologically groundbreaking “No 13,” captivated audiences and sparked conversations beyond the world of fashion.

These formative years laid the groundwork for the enduring legacy of the Alexander McQueen brand, characterized by fearless creativity and uncompromising craftsmanship.

The turn of the millennium saw McQueen enter into a partnership with the Gucci Group (now Kering), which acquired a majority stake in his label in 2001.

This partnership provided McQueen with the resources to expand his brand globally while maintaining creative control. Under this new structure, the Alexander McQueen brand flourished, branching out into various categories including menswear, accessories, and eyewear.

If you rub your eyes, you’re not alone. That’s why it’s important to understand the risks, and how to stop!
woman rubbing eyes with eyeglasses in hand

Whether it’s because they’re dry, itchy, or stinging, rubbing your eyes feels great. Everyone does it, which is why it may come as a surprise that, unfortunately, it’s better not to. Luckily, there are some alternatives that are much safer and feel just as good.

Why you rub your eyes

There are many reasons why people rub their eyes, it’s such a natural instinct that even very young children do it. Eye rubbing when tired is one of the most common as it provides temporary relief from the annoying eye strain that comes with exhaustion.

Allergy symptoms are another reason why you might find yourself eye rubbing, with hay fever and allergies to pets being the most frequent. That said, anything that causes dry eyes, eye irritation, or itchy eyes can lead to rubbing your eyes to find relief, such as the common cold or light sensitivity.

Furthermore, chronic eye rubbing is common self soothing behaviors in adults and children alike.

This is because it stimulates the vagus nerve, a long cranial nerve that is responsible for regulating many organ functions– amongst which your heart rate and blood pressure.

Since these are affected by your fight or flight response, stimulating this nerve can be a good way to interrupt panic attacks and relieve stress.

DID YOU KNOW?

The vagus nerve gets its name from the word vagabond. This is because it’s an incredibly long nerve with multiple meandering branches through your body, as if it were wandering around.

Why you shouldn't rub your eyes

why you shouldn't rub you r eyes with icons

Rubbing your eyes is bad for your eye health for many reasons. The act of rubbing itself can cause broken blood vessels, resulting in bloodshot eyes. It can also lead to droopy eyelids and dark circles under your eyes

It can disrupt blood flow and increase eye pressure, which puts people with glaucoma at risk for damage to the optical nerve.

If you rub your eyes because you have a foreign body inside them, this can lead to scratching your cornea which in more severe cases is a serious condition that can cause permanent vision loss.

And that’s not all, in susceptible individuals with shortsightedness caused by progressive myopia, rubbing eyes can make the condition worse.

Continuous eye rubbing can even lead to the thinning of the cornea, retinal tear, and retinal detachment.

It can cause eye infections such as conjunctivitis and pink eye as although virus and bacteria are generally contracted through your nose and mouth, they can also enter your body through the membranes protecting your eyes.

And  although the act of rubbing may be initially soothing for allergy sufferers, the relief is only temporary. You’ve probably heard of antihistamines, a type of medication used to treat allergies.

They work against allergy symptoms triggered by histamine, a chemical compound produced by the body. Rubbing your eyes can release histamine, making the allergies worse, and giving you another good reason to keep your hands away from your eyes.

How to stop excessive eye rubbing

If you’re worried about not being able to resist the urge to rub your eyes, don’t fret. There’s a lot of ways to relieve the symptoms that lead to eye rubbing in the first place.

Using artificial tears (eye drops) regularly will keep the eyes hydrated and help flush out allergens and foreign bodies. If your allergies are very bad, your doctor might even prescribe antihistamine eye drops or mast cell stabilizers to help with the itchy eyes.

woman puttin gin eyedrops

If you’re rubbing your eyes as stress relief, there are alternatives to help avoid rubbing. You could consider buying a fidget toy instead, which will also help you be more mindful about what you’re doing with your hands to avoid rubbing out of habit.

Trying to keep your hands away from your face can also help reduce rubbing out of habit, and if you really feel the need to rub, you could consider warm compresses to the eyes instead.

Your doctor can also prescribe steroid eye drops to help treat the symptoms that can lead to chronic eye rubbing.

When to see a doctor

Your eye health is important so if you find yourself engaging in excessive rubbing, it’s important to go to an eye doctor.

Not only can they identify the cause and provide solutions to help you stop rubbing, they can also check if your eye rubbing has worsened any pre-existing conditions.

Any time you experience eye or vision discomfort, you should seek professional help and get proper treatment. Regular check-ups with your local optician will keep your eyes healthy and your vision clear.

And if you still have doubts about eye rubbing or eye health, feel free to ask our in-house opticians about it. They’re here to clear things up!

Take care of your vision

Now that you know why rubbing your eyes is bad for you, it’s time to stop. Your eyes will be grateful, and healthier.

Remember to take care of your vision, by treating your symptoms you’ll find your eyes feel so much better that you won’t even notice you’re not rubbing them!

Besides, eye health isn’t just important– it’s also fascinating. Come visit our Optical Center to learn more, we cover all sorts of topics to help you stay informed.

On March 8th, International Women’s Day, Julia Ritchie, head of Prescription and Private Label at SmartBuyGlasses, held a live event showcasing hand-picked prescription lenses designed to make women feel beautiful and ready to take on the world. Artificial intelligence continues to change the landscape of e-commerce, making shopping from the comfort of our homes more accessible and fun. Globally, 40% of shoppers say that being unable to see, touch, and try out products keeps them from online shopping.

SmartBuyGlasses, a leading online retailer of prescription eyewear, offers customers a brick-and-mortar shopping experience right from their phones or computers. Without having to go to an optical store, customers can avoid waiting in line and facing pressure to make purchases.  With its innovative Virtual Try-On tool, shoppers can get a realistic representation of SmartBuyGlasses’ vast eyewear collection.

The free Virtual Try-On tool, powered by machine learning, lets customers try on over 20,000 frames and see how the eyewear looks from different angles. Offering an accurate fit and look, customers can shop confidently, knowing that what they see is what they will receive. The process is easy, allowing everyone to discover eyewear that fits.

  • Go to  www.smartbuyglasses.com
  • Select “Glasses” or “Sunglasses” from the top menu
  • Choose a pair you like and select “Try Me On”
  • Record a selfie video, following guided step-by-step instructions
  • See how the glasses look and fit, and continue to browse an endless amount of styles

With over 4 billion people wearing glasses worldwide, this tool’s convenience is a game changer for consumers. After receiving a new prescription, going to an optical store creates delays and frustration. Now, customers can enjoy a real-life shopping experience on their own terms.

Virtual Try-On technology also means fewer returns. Many shoppers buy and return or order multiple versions of the same product so they can decide what to keep once it is delivered. This is expensive, time-consuming, and has negative environmental impacts.

As more people require prescription eyewear, SmartBuyGlasses is offering their customers an authentic and unique online shopping experience you won’t find anywhere else. With the implementation of the Virtual Try-On tool, shoppers can confidently search, find, and buy the eyewear that best suits them and their vision needs.

Can You Wear Glasses in a Passport Photo?

With over four billion people worldwide wearing glasses, it’s clear that they’re a common accessory.

If you’re one of the many who rely on prescription glasses, it’s likely you rarely take them off.

In this article we’ll explore whether taking a passport picture is one of those cases where you need to go without them.

The problem with wearing glasses in a passport photo

When it comes to taking passport photos, wearing glasses can pose a bit of a challenge. The main issue is the glare they can cause, especially if there’s a camera flash involved.

This glare can obscure the eyes or create reflections that make it difficult to clearly see the facial features such as the true eye color, which is an important identifying feature.

Denying people the option of wearing glasses for a passport photo has helped ease the passport application process and expedite delivery to the applicants, but this practice has not been adopted everywhere.

passport photo document travel vacation

When are you allowed to wear glasses?

Passport photo requirements vary from country to country. In the United States, the U.S. Department of State established the “No Eyeglasses Policy” in 2016 with two main intentions: convenience and safety.

In other countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, wearing glasses in passport photos is also generally discouraged.

However, there are exceptions for valid medical reasons. In such rare cases, a person may need to provide medical documentation, including a signed doctor’s statement, to support their need to wear prescription glasses in their passport photo.

This rule also applies to children. Parents will need to provide a signed medical statement if their child is medically required to keep the glasses on.

In every other case, even if you wear eyeglasses in your daily life, you’ll have to take them off for your passport photo.

Can you wear sunglasses in a passport photo?

No. Sunglasses are not permitted in a passport photo. Your eyes must be fully visible and not obstructed in your official document.

Requirements for wearing glasses in a passport photo

If wearing glasses in a passport photo is necessary due to medical reasons, there are specific guidelines that must be followed:

  • Eyeglass frames should not cover any part of the eyes or the eyebrows.
  • There should be no glare or reflections on the lenses.
  • There should be no shadows or distortions caused by the lenses that obscure the eyes.
  • You can’t wear colored or tinted glasses.
These requirements apply for both adults and children.

Tips for taking your passport photo

When taking your passport photo, there are few things to keep in mind:

  • Wear normal, everyday clothing; costumes and uniforms are not permitted.
  • Avoid hats or head coverings, unless for religious reasons, with a signed statement confirming the attire’s significance.
  • Keep makeup natural to ensure facial features and skin tone are recognizable.
  • Ensure the photo is in color and taken within the last six months in front of a white background.
  • You can smile, but keep your mouth closed and eyes open.
  • Avoid selfies and don’t use filters, retouching, or alterations.

By sticking to these guidelines, your passport photo will be a true reflection of you.

Tips for taking your passport photo

Smile, you're passport-ready!

When it’s time for your new passport photo, simply be your authentic self. Instead of dressing up or going all out with makeup, keep it casual and natural.

And remember, while some countries may permit wearing glasses in passport photos under specific conditions, submitting a photo with glasses could lead to rejection of the application.

This means you’ll have to retake the photo or even potentially redo the whole application process. It’s generally safest and quickest to avoid wearing them altogether.

Lens add-ons are some of the best customization options to tailor your glasses to your lifestyle and preferences.

Buying glasses may seem pretty straightforward, but after browsing through options for a bit you’ve likely realized there’s more options than you think!

You want your eyewear to be functional, feel comfortable, and look great while doing so. Lens add-ons come in to help you get the most out of your glasses.

There’s many, but understanding the different add-ons is important if you’re looking to elevate your vision and look. Glasses add-ons enhance the versatility and functionality of your eyeglass lenses, turning them into more than just a tool for vision correction.

What are lens add-ons?

Also known as lens coatings or treatments, lens add-ons bring new features to your eyewear.

They are available for both prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses, and they are specifically designed to enhance your vision experience beyond mere sun protection and vision correction.

From visual clarity to advanced sun protection in bright conditions, these lens coatings help you tailor your eyewear to your specific needs.

And that’s not all, they also add a stylish flair that can leave your lenses looking as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional.

DID YOU KNOW?

The earliest tinted lens dates back to the times of the Roman colosseum, where Emperor Nero is said to have used polished gemstones to watch gladiator matches.

Our lens add-ons

Here at SmartBuyGlasses we want you to get the most out of your lenses. This is why we offer a diverse range of lens add-ons, each designed to fulfill a specific need.

These are in addition to the impact-resistant, scratch-resistant, and anti-reflective coatings that most of our lens packages come with.

And it doesn’t matter if you’re purchasing regular sunglasses or prescription lenses, there are lens treatments available for all sorts of eyewear needs, indoors and out.

Polarization

Have you ever found yourself squinting at a sudden bright light while driving or spending time outside? Though annoying, this is an extremely common issue due to how light interacts with surfaces.

When the sun reflects off reflective surfaces, it causes a powerful, horizontal glare. This can cause visual discomfort, and polarization filters are the solution.

Sunglasses with a polarizing lens coating reduce this glare to boost visual acuity and comfort in bright conditions, helping you see under the harsh sun.

polarized vs not polarized lens comparison looking at water

As they drastically cut down the glare from surfaces like water and glass, these lenses are well suited to anyone engaging in outdoor activities such as golf, skiing, and fishing, amongst others.

They also add advanced UV protection to help protect not only from bright light but also from UV exposure.

And this add-on isn’t only for athletes! Polarized lenses are also a great choice for those looking for a safer driving experience. This is because the glare reduction helps prevent the dangerous squinting that can occur when driving under the sun.

That said, they can interfere with seeing LCD screens and might slightly alter how white colors appear, which is a trade-off to consider when choosing the right pair of lenses for you.

Tints

Tinted glasses let you brighten up your world while protecting your eyes from the sun. They come in different colors and are great for enhancing depth perception while reducing eye strain by improving contrast in brighter environments.

The choice in color isn’t purely aesthetic, each serves a purpose. Gray lenses are the best lenses for everyday use as they provide better color perception and a significant reduction in brightness.

Brown lenses enhance contrast and clarity alongside providing UV protection and enhancing depth perception in foggy conditions.

Green lenses, on the other hand, are the most protective type as they block blue light and UV rays, reducing eye strain and visual comfort in bright environments.

brown, pink and green tinted lenses

Other customization options to consider when purchasing tinted glass lenses includes whether to go for a full or gradient tint.

Full-tinted lenses have one color applied to the entire lens, while gradient-tinted lenses gradually transition from a dark tint to a lighter tint, usually from top to bottom.

You can also choose between 80%, 50%, and 30% transparency based on the desired level of darkness that suits your needs.

All this makes tinted lenses extremely versatile and the perfect fit for many. That said, the color enhancement can sometimes distort true color perception, which might be a drawback for tasks that depend on true-to-life color vision.

Transitions®

Transitions® lenses offer the practicality of not needing to switch between eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses. This is because they automatically adjust their tint based on light conditions, going from clear indoors to dark outdoors.

transitions

They are perfect for those who move frequently between different lighting environments.

Mirror finish

Mirrored lenses are the perfect blend of fashion and function. They have a thin, metallic coating on the outer surface which creates a mirror-like appearance that does much more than just adding a stylish edge to your frames.

girl wearing mirrored lenses at beach

Their special anti-reflective coating causes light and glare to bounce off the sunglasses and away from your eyes, providing clearer vision. This makes them ideal for outdoor activities in bright environments like snowy landscapes or sunny beaches.

Just as with tints, you can get your mirror finish in different colors:

  • Silver lenses are perfect for activities that require precise eyesight as they reduce glare and help maintain depth-perception.
  • Green lenses minimize color distortion and glare while enhancing light contrast and shadows.
  • Red lenses are popular for snow sports as they offer a brighter, clearer view of the surrounding environment.
  • Blue lenses are great in snowy, icy, or low-visibility conditions like fog or mist.
  • Gold lenses are good in cloudy weather, as they provide better depth perception and a good contrast for improved visibility.

This makes them the perfect fit for many, though they do require frequent cleaning and aren’t suitable for low-light conditions.

zFORT® Blue Light Blocking

Blue light is a type of UV ray that naturally comes from the sun, as well as our digital devices. With our increasing reliance on these devices, our exposure to blue light rays has never been higher.

Extended exposure to these harmful light rays that can cause eye strain, premature eye aging and other health problems.

girl looking at phone wearing blue light glasses

Designed to limit the penetration of those short wavelengths, zFORT® blue light blocking technology is the safe and stylish solution to this.

They provide a ‘fort-like’ protection to the eye, though they can also alter color perception, which may be an issue for those involved in color-critical activities.

The perfect lens add-ons for you

Make any glasses the perfect pair with the right lens add-ons. Which is best for you will ultimately depend on your lifestyle and personal style, so make sure to understand your needs when making your choice.

And if you’re not sure what combination is best? Don’t worry, our opticians are here to help you find the right lenses for you.

Your Eyewear Guide for Festival Season

Now that the weather is getting warmer, outdoor concerts are coming back. That’s right, it’s officially festival season! That means long days out in the sun listening to your favorite artists and wearing fun themed outfits.

Your choice in eyewear is an essential part of your festival look. Not only can your glasses elevate your style, but they also protect your eyes from the dusty festival grounds and glaring sun during those long days spent at music festivals.

The options are endless, so which frames should you go for? Of course this all depends on your look! A good way to start is by taking inspiration from some popular festival styles seen around the world.

Popular festival looks

Whether you’ll be glamping in the desert or headbanging in the trees, no matter where you go, you’ll see a wide variety of looks inspired by different decades, music genres, and festival themes.

Finding the perfect eyewear to match your outfit can be quite a challenge, but have no fear, your eclectic eyewear stylist is here!

Festival sunglasses for the boho chic

woman wearing black hat and sunglasses

The bohemian (aka boho) look is such a festival staple. When we think boho, we automatically think of Coachella circa 2015. Loose and flowy clothing, flower crowns, crochet shawls, muted florals, and wide brimmed hats with feathers.

The modern boho look is the perfect style that merges fashion and comfort for those long festival days. For added comfort and eye protection, any oversized sunglasses would be the perfect accessory for this look.

Sorry, we could not find the following product IDs in our database: 590476, 626446. Please check and use correct values.

Festival sunglasses for the 70s retro look

woman wearing oversized round sunglasses

When it comes to the 70s retro look, think of Woodstock and hippies. The stereotypical hippie wore bright contrasting colors, groovy patterns, peace signs, and blue bell bottom jeans.

The 70s retro style is anything but minimal so make a statement with colorful frames and lenses, or keep it simple with a pair of  round frames!

Sorry, we could not find the following product IDs in our database: 585676, 598933. Please check and use correct values.

Festival glasses for a futuristic look

woman wearing futuristic reflective glasses

The futuristic style is out of this world! When going futuristic for your next festival, think sci-fi cyberpunk. This look is accentuated by shiny pleather, flashy accessories and anything reflective or holographic.

That being said, the best glasses to enhance this style would be geometric or wraparound frames, or anything with mirrored lenses, especially in gold or silver.

Festival glasses for the 90s raver

woman wearing 90s windbreaker and rectangular sunglasses

The 90s raver look is neon colorblock central. The quintessential accessories for the 90s raver are vintage nylon windbreakers, parachute pants, fanny packs, and bucket hats.

To complement this colorful look, stand out with some neon colored frames, or opt for a pair of narrow oval frames that were all the rage and rocked by all your favorite celebs back in the 90s.

Sorry, we could not find the following product IDs in our database: 544489, 649973, 633613. Please check and use correct values.

Festival sunglasses for the country western

woman wearing cowgirl hat and rectangular sunglasses

The stereotypical western festival attire is inspired by cowboys, farmers, and country music. Just like the evolution of country music, the country western attire has become trendy and fashion forward.

Nevertheless, this festival look is still characterized by the classic cowboy boots and hats, bandanas, cow print, and all things denim – think Stagecoach or Country Thunder!

To complete this look, you can go a few directions: sporty, trendy, or simple. The perfect sunglasses for a sporty look would be a pair of active lifestyle frames with reflective lenses, but if you want a trendier look, go for a pilot frame with yellow lenses or simple rectangular metal frames.

Sorry, we could not find the following product IDs in our database: 544507. Please check and use correct values.

Your festival eyewear care guide

Now that you’ve gotten some inspiration and decided on your eyewear, now you have to make sure to take proper care of them and keep them in tip top shape.

I’m sure we all have friends that have lost or broken their sunglasses at a festival, so taking the right precautions will give your favorite pair of sunglasses the best chance at surviving festival season.

  • Invest in a hard case for your glasses – don’t be tempted to just throw them into your bag or back pocket as they could get crushed, fall out, or get scratched.
  • Make sure your sunglasses case fits into your festival bag – it’s important to remember that many festival grounds and concert venues have bag size limitations.
  • Use a microfiber cloth when cleaning your lenses and keep it in your glasses case. Festival grounds are notorious for being dusty, it’s just a part of the festival experience! So make sure to avoid cleaning your sunglasses with dusty or scratchy fabrics.
  • Don’t let strangers try them on – there’s a good chance they’ll get lost in the crowd and won’t return home with you!

Now that you’re inspired, find your next pair of sunglasses and you’ll be all set for any event with the perfect accessory!

Each pair of Oliver Peoples frames is hand-crafted with careful attention to detail, sculpting and perfecting the materials to achieve a balanced and refined final product.

The technically intricate process involves both state of the art machinery and the human touch, such as the individual hand-insertion of the genuine pins and plaques.

Each frame is then tumbled and polished, and eventually adjusted by hand, paying close attention to the original drawing created in the design studio in West Hollywood as reference.

 Brand Spotlight: Ray-Ban

Brand Spotlight: Ray-Ban

Born in 1937, Ray-Ban has been consistently delivering top-tier, stylish sunglasses and prescription glasses that not only enhance your vision but also accentuate your style.

Renowned for its iconic designs and uncompromising quality, the brand has secured its position as the top-selling eyewear brand worldwide.

Join us as we delve into the captivating journey of Ray-Ban, from its military origins to its iconic status in the world of fashion eyewear.

The timeline of Ray-Ban's iconic journey

In the 1930s, as planes reached record altitudes, US Air Force pilots confronted a severe challenge: headaches and altitude sickness, caused in part by the sun’s harsh glare.

Colonel John A. Macready, the founding father of Ray-Ban, took matters into his own hands and, with the help of Bausch & Lomb, created a groundbreaking solution: the anti-glare lens.

This innovation led to the creation of sunglasses specifically designed to reduce the distraction for pilots caused by the intense blue and white hues of the sky.

This anti-glare lens featured a plastic frame with a unique teardrop shape. Following the enormous popularity which these iconic sunglasses received, the brand remodeled the sunglasses with a metal frame, becoming the iconic Ray-Ban Aviator the following year.

However, it wasn’t long before the popularity of Ray-Ban spread from pilots to anyone with an outdoor lifestyle.

In 1938, the Ray-Ban Shooter was launched, equipped with a green lens and a pale yellow kalichrome lens – perfect for sharpening details and reducing haze in misty conditions.

Ray-Ban’s popularity kept soaring and they launched the Ray-Ban Outdoorsman the following year, targeting hunting, shooting, and fishing enthusiasts.

With World War II happening during the 1940s, technical eyewear started to resonate more with civilians, who were eager to use the same high-performance tools as pilots.

This caused Ray-Ban eyewear to transition seamlessly from a military requirement to a pop culture fashion staple, without compromising on its trademark effectiveness.

In the wake of World War II, Hollywood emerged as a powerful force in shaping cultural trends.

Throughout the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, society embraced transformative changes influenced by the film industry, allowing Ray-Ban to grow at a bigger scale. After the 70s, Ray-Ban cemented its place in pop culture, as the Aviator and Wayfarer models featured prominently in iconic movies.

In 1999, Ray-Ban became part of the Luxottica Group’s extensive portfolio, which includes many acclaimed brands, further strengthening its position in the industry.

In the early 2000s the brand launched Ray-Ban Optical for prescription lenses and Ray-Ban Junior for children, followed by colorful versions of the Wayfarer model.

This innovative approach empowered customers to infuse their personal style into their eyewear, marking another milestone in Ray-Ban’s legacy of blending fashion with functionality.

Why is Ray-Ban so popular?

The world of eyewear has seen many trends come and go, but there’s one brand that’s never faded – Ray-Ban.

Ratti named these sunglasses Persol, stemming from the Italian phrase “Per il sole,” meaning “For the sun.” What set these glasses apart was the introduction of the “3-notch bridge,” a simple yet revolutionary design aimed at enhancing flexibility.

This pioneering innovation transformed the comfort of sunglasses, marking a significant advancement in the eyewear industry.
