What are computer lenses?

Computer lenses, also known as office lenses or occupational lenses, are dual focus lenses that allow you to see at both near and intermediate distances. This makes them perfect for working at your desk.

As opposed to blue light blocking lenses, they are designed to correct your vision,
rather than filter out blue light from your screen.

How do computer lenses work?

Computer lenses have two prescriptions within one lens, giving you clear vision within a distance of 80cm.

This helps you to see clearly while doing any tasks that require you to see up close and slightly further away. Therefore, computer lenses are not suitable for driving or tasks that require distance vision.

FAQs

Computer lenses and bifocal lenses both have two areas of focus. However, bifocal lenses give distance and near vision with a visible line on the front surface. Bifocal lenses are not ideal for computer use, as they are intended for distances much closer or much further than your screen is distanced from you.

Intermediate vision refers to sight at approximately an arm's length away. You use it for tasks such as working on the computer or reading the speedometer in your car.

First, choose the frames you would like. Then, during the checkout process, simply supply us with your full valid prescription (including distance and ADD). From there, our lab will do the rest.

You can add zFORT® Blue Light Block to your lenses during checkout. If you spend a lot of time looking at screens, having blue light glasses can be beneficial in preventing eye strain, minimising headaches and improving your sleep.

You'll find more clarity and less strain using computer lenses to do both up-close and intermediate tasks as opposed to when using reading glasses. Your reading glasses are only to help your near vision.
